Bro Don Griffin / Pastor

Don has served in various capacities at Hillcrest since 1998 from Church Council member to Deacon and Youth Pastor to name a few. Most recently, Don had served as our Associate Pastor from Jan 2011 until Dec 2012, and has now been named our Pastor.
Don was raised in a Christian Home in Dallas, Texas. His father was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Garland and served as his example of what a godly man should be. He accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior just before Easter when he was 9 years old.
On January 14th, 2004, Don surrendered to the ministry of Jesus Christ while serving as Youth Pastor at Hillcrest and on July 20, 2008 he made public his call to ministry. Don believes the church should be relationship based. Beginning with our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We as Christ followers must not settle for anything less than excellence in our relationship with Christ. Philippians 3:13 instructs us to forget what is behind and strain toward what is ahead. Secondly, our relationships with each other. Hillcrest is a faith family where connection is encouraged through becoming part of a Summit Group and finding your role in the family. Everyone is welcome at Hillcrest.
Personal Info: Don and Rima have been married since February 19, 1993. They have 4 children Stephen, Scotty, Tasha, and Codi. He has a BS in Animal Science, and is currently working towards an MA in Christian Leadership from Criswell College in Dallas.
